Tomra QVision

Overview

The Tomra QVision is a fat, protein and moisture analysis solution for the meat industry. The QVision Analyzer allows suppliers to provide a consistent product quality that provides large savings by increasing profitability and simplifying daily operation.

Meat producers are constantly looking for a consistent taste in their end product. Stable fat, protein and moisture levels are what clients want and TOMRA Sorting Solutions can provide a process analytics solution to meet those needs. The QVision Fat Analyzer is typically applied directly after the grinder or dicer to ensure standardization of fat content in a batch that is either operator controlled or integrated to automation systems.

Working Principle

The Tomra QVision Analyser applies unique transflection technology which measures VIS-NIR light that has penetrated deep into the meat before it is analyzed. As the full width of the belt is analyzed, intelligent algorithms instantly verify what is belt and what is food product. The product flow is weighted in parallel analysis data and weight data is matched in real-time to take into account any density difference in the food product. These features allow both fresh and frozen food products to be analyzed at very high accuracies and capacities. Surface effects and limitations in grind size are eliminated.

TOMRA Sorting has a solution for in-line analysis of fresh and frozen diced meat. Our solution is able to analyze fat, protein, moisture and collagen in diced meat. The reasons for analyzing meat are to reduce formulation cost, enhance yield and raw material control, and to eliminate “out of spec” claims.

 

Ground Meat

TOMRA Sorting has a solution for in-line analysis of fresh and frozen ground meat. Our solution is able to analyze fat, protein, moisture and collagen in ground meat, at any grind size. Also mechanically separated meat and LFTB (Lean Finely Textured Beef) can be analysed.

Pork Trim

TOMRA Sorting has a solution for in-line analysis of fresh and frozen pork trim. Our solution is able to analyze fat, protein, moisture and collagen in small pork trim without grinding and dicing.
